AuthorsDrop

The AuthorsDrop website is available today. Behind the scenes, we are extending that experience to more devices and adding tools that help you move from draft to finished work. This page tracks what is in development and what is planned for later.

AuthorsDrop for iPhone and iPad

A native iOS app for iPhone and iPad is in active development and heading toward the Apple App Store. It is built for the same serious writing projects you manage on the website — novels, plays, screenplays, research, dissertations, and theses.

On iOS you will get the core AuthorsDrop workflow: your project library, binder, editor, notes, characters, and cloud sync with the same account you use at authorsdrop.com. Write at your desk, then pick up on your phone or tablet without starting over.

Apple apps beyond the browser

AuthorsDrop already works in the browser, and Apple users can open the web app from the site today. We are also building dedicated Apple apps — starting with iOS — so you can choose the experience that fits how you work, without giving up your projects or your structure.

A Mac app is part of that direction for writers who want a desktop-native environment while staying connected to the same AuthorsDrop workspace.

Manuscript formatting tool

A formatting tool is on the roadmap for a future release. It will help you prepare a finished manuscript for submission, review, or publication — handling layout, spacing, and export standards from inside your project instead of copying text into separate software.

We have not announced a release date yet. Formatting is a natural next step after planning, drafting, and organising in AuthorsDrop, and we will share more detail as development moves forward.

How to follow along

This page will be updated as features ship. In the meantime, you can use AuthorsDrop on the web, get in touch with questions, or start a project today and grow with us as new tools arrive.
